LIVING MATERIALS FOR MULTISPECIES COHABITATION
Design research residency

Living Materials for Multispecies Cohabitation was a participatory residency project developed together with designer-researcher Gabriela Farias at ProtoPotsdam. The project explored how urban spaces can support biodiversity through small-scale habitat interventions made from mycelium-based materials. Combining ecological mapping, species-centered design, and hands-on prototyping, we worked with participants to identify the needs of local species such as bees, swallows, bats, and toads, translating these insights into spatial and material interventions. My role focused on multispecies mapping, habitat analysis, and the integration of ecological perspectives into spatial design processes.
